We all jumped onto social media wanting to connect to family and friends. As social media grew, it consumed so much more. There are good things about social media, and there are bad. For this article, we will focus on its effects on the news industry. At some point and time, news and information changed. It moved faster with fewer checks and balances. Trust, integrity, positivity, and quality seemed to all be lost. Eventually, the business of newspapers and journalism seemed to go away as well.

North Jefferson News

Locally in North Jefferson County, we lost our beloved North Jefferson News. In 2020, the Cullman Times acquired it and has since been silenced. As a community, we have seen the need, and sources are available such as Gardendale Magazine, Gardendale News, North Jefferson Times, What’s happening in Gardendale, What’s happening in Gardendale 2, What’s Really Really Happening in Gardendale, and more. The effort on all of these is greatly appreciated as we need local news content in our community!

The hope of starting the North Jefferson Post is to bring this community together. We are all connected, and the success of one community impacts the other. When it is so easy to focus on the negative, we want to produce news that does something different, focuses on the positive!
