Our Place Restaurant, located at 1218 Main Street in Gardendale, is one of those small, family restaurants that seemed to be everywhere years ago before the big corporate franchises took over. If you don’t live here, you might not even be aware of the delicious food you are missing.

Mom and Pop Shop

The restaurant is a family enterprise built on the love of each other and a desire to serve the best food possible. Opened in 1997 by Evelyn and Steve, it was their wish to serve up food with a southern quality and friendly manner.

Choosing Gardendale as a place to open their business was an easy decision because of their connections to the community and love of the city. The restaurant is constantly surprising, using tried and true family favorites and trying new and innovative dishes.

Southern Quality Food

They are not open for dinner, so stop by early for some crowd-pleasing favorites for breakfast and lunch. With everything cooked to order, freshness and quality are a no-brainer. Friendly service and good prices make returning for a second trip understandable.

Menu and hours

Closed on Sunday and Monday, they are open the rest of the week from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.

They offer take-out, and parking is convenient and plentiful.

While the menu is limited, the choices have several favorites to choose from.

Evelyn’s Special, grilled Reuben, turkey, bacon, ranch, and swiss sandwich, and the Gyro sandwich are just a few of their lunch offerings. They have delicious chicken salad and even a cheeseburger salad.

Their breakfast offerings are equally as delightful.
