Recently we sat down with Heather Lebischak to discuss the Gardendale Medical Mile Health Expo. If you do not know Heather by now you should, she is the Executive Director of the Gardendale Chamber of Commerce, Group Fitness Director at the Gardendale Civic Center, and a Public Speaker.
What is the Gardendale Medical Mile?
Heather explained to us that the Gardendale Medical Mile consists of all businesses in the community with medical connections, such as; hospitals, primary care, after-hours care, emergency room, chiropractic care, pharmacy, ENT, and more. She also let us know that we have over 100 medical providers in our community.
We asked Heather to explain the goal of the Gardendale Medical Mile Expo event. Her reply was, “Many in the community do not realize the medical resources available locally. Birmingham has long been known for its medical expertise, and many do not realize that we have a lot of what Birmingham has to offer in Gardendale. In the case of life-threatening emergencies, the time saved in travel can mean the difference between life and death. We want to ensure our community is aware of the local medical services available.”

There are plenty of great traditions in North Jefferson county, from the amazing Gardendale parade to the Fultondale Christmas tree…
