Gardendale Plans on Honoring Hometown Veterans

June 15, 2022

With Memorial Day honoring our fallen soldiers last month and our nation’s birthday coming up around the corner,  along with sodas, barbecue, and pool time, Americans are soaking up the American spirit.

Celebrating not only what a great country we live in, but also recognizing and remembering the brave men and women who fought for our right to democracy.

Honoring Hometown Veterans with Banners

While Veterans Day is not celebrated nationally until November 11th, the dedication, love of country, and fighting spirit of the American soldier is always something to cherish and take pride in.

Our veterans have put their lives on the line to protect the freedoms we enjoy and often times take for granted. They deserve to be recognized for not only their commitment but also their bravery.

The city of Gardendale is offering a unique way to share and recognize the great men and women of the city for their service to this country.

Main Street Dedication

Flags honoring the serviceman or woman in your life will be on display on the power lines that line Main Street, for a three-year period, during the months of May, June, July, and mid-October through mid-December.

Each banner can be customized. The first two lines will be the name and military branch, but the third and fourth lines can be personalized with rank, years served, honors received, or other personal additions.
