Our second food truck is Simone’s Kitchen ATL (SKA). Honestly, catching the right schedule for food trucks was more difficult than we ever imagined, but we did not give up easily. To say the office was excited to try this one was an understatement. We are all cajun fans!

On to the Reviews
Who: Emily, Jason & Matt
Emily’s Rating: 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Emily’s Review: These Bayou Fries are a meal all in itself! I’m always down for anything with Andouille sausage, and these loaded cajun fries do NOT disappoint. Packed with just the right amount of heat, perfectly cooked shrimp, and creamy queso, it’s really impossible to go wrong. These fries were on point and brought ALL the flavor. I can’t wait to go back – next up, the Seafood Stuffed Grilled Cheese!
Jason’s Rating: 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Jason’s Review: It really is a five-star meal, but the keyword is MEAL. This is not a snack but a full-out delicious meal. I literally ate half of it and then took a nap. The shrimp, sausage, fries queso and seasoning are a perfect combination. This really should be a local restaurant. I will add a star if they open a location in Gardendale! I will be back for sure but looking to share my meal with someone else.
Matt’s Rating: 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Matt’s Review: The Bayou Fries were a FULL meal. It’s hard to go wrong with cheese fries, but when you throw cajun grilled shrimp and Andouille sausage on top of queso-covered fries, you have one impressive dish. Will definitely be back for more!
Loaded Buffalo Chicken Fries (LBC)
Who: Logan, Micah, & Allison
Logan’s Rating: 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Logan’s Review: Simone’s Kitchen ATL is the real deal. I went with the buffalo chicken fries, which were an incredible combo of queso, buffalo sauce, ranch, cajun seasoned chicken, bacon, and fries. As someone who doesn’t even like ranch, I can say the meal was delicious! The only reason I gave the fries a 4 instead of a 5 is because there just wasn’t quite enough buffalo sauce for my liking. However, I definitely recommend giving them a try next time you’re looking for a flavorful meal.
Micah’s Rating: 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Micah’s Review: The Loaded Buffalo Chicken Fries were a great combination of flavors the ranch and buffalo sauce complimented each other very well. The chicken and fries were cooked perfectly. The only reason this loses a star for me is that there was too much bacon (I cannot believe I just said that).
Allison’s Rating: 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Allison’s Review: The Loaded Buffalo Chicken fries slap! As someone who is a big fan of Buffalo Chicken, I knew I had to give this meal a try, and I am so glad I did! It had a perfect combination of buffalo sauce, ranch, queso, bacon, cajun seasoned chicken, and fries. You won’t be disappointed and should give them a try.
Cajun Pasta Trio
Stell’s Rating: 6/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Stell’s Review: The portion size was overwhelmingly large and the meal was very filling and satisfying. I highly recommend stopping by and getting the Cajun pasta trio. You will not be disappointed, the shrimp is cooked to perfection. This food is bussssin straight fire!!
Summary for Simone’s Kitchen ATL (SKA)
Literally, one of the best food trucks we have all been to. The flavors of each meal were spectacular and the people at the truck were top-notch as well. At the North Jefferson Post we are focused on positive news so not all food trucks will make our food truck series but the ones that do (like TQ) are 100%, slapping, bussin straight fire or whatever kids are saying these days!
As I look back, I remember before being married nights of playing tennis at Moncrief park, as I have always…
There are plenty of great traditions in North Jefferson county, from the amazing Gardendale parade to the Fultondale Christmas tree…
